Hi Guys,

On this laboratory, we will be doing a transition from Lotus Domino to Exchange server 2007.

First we will be creating our Domino Infrastructure.

Lets Start!

1. Setup Screen.

2. Agree with the Program License Agreement

3. Specify the name and company name

4. Specify the location of the Lotus Domino Server and the Data Folder.

The Data Folder is where Lotus Domino will place all the active mailbox of all users (NSF files).
5. Since we will be deploying our Domino Server on a single box, we will specify Domino Enterprise Server. A Domino Enterprise Server also includes the application creation feature of Lotus Domino

6. Specify the Program Folder

7. Start the Lotus Domino Server.

8. It is a good recommendation to start Lotus Domino as a Windows Service. Click Start Domino as a Windows Server then Click OK

9. Next we will configure our Domino Server. Click Next

10. Since it is our first Server, we will first Set up the first Server or stand-alone server. Click Next

11. Specify the Server Name and Server Title.

12. Define the organization Name, Certified Password. We will use the certified password in creating users on our Domino Infrastructure.

13. Specify the Domino domain name

14. Specify the Administrator Account

15. Setup internet services.

16. Domino Network Settings

17. Domino Security Settings

18. Summary Screen. Click Setup. This will configure our Domino Infrastructure.

Next. We will create users and configure our Domino Server to send and receive email from the Internet.

System Center Essential: Deploying Software

Feb-3-2010 By Alvin Lester Candare

For today we will be deploying Winzip on our System Center Essential Infrastructure.

1. Launch the New Software Package Wizard

2. Specify the installation parameter.
On this lab, winzip32.exe has a /autoinstall flag that lets you install winzip silently. Each software has a different installation parameter and installation complexity. Visit APPDEPLOY.COM to view how those software can be installed / repackaged.

3. Summary Page

4. After creating the package, we need to approve it. We also need to specify on which group we will be deploying the application. In this case, I choose All Client – Windows XP

5. This is what it looks like on the Client Machine.

Thats how we deploy software using System Center Essential.
