Citrix iForum 2009 – “The Cloud”
Last july 28 2009, I attended the first ever Citrix iForum in Singapore (well actually in Asia).
As one of the people who loves to know what’s new for all Citrix products, I was so excited to attend sessions about Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and XenServer. I was expecting that the whole day event will just focus to those three products and their updates and how it will benefit all users. I was amazed when they make the introducion focus on what they called “Cloud”. At first I was confused how this Cloud do with Citrix and how it will affect all Citrix users, as the presentation went by, I got the idea of what were the components of Cloud and the role of Citrix.
Cloud Infrastructure
By that time its getting clearer for me that Citrix is going for the next generation of IT infrastructure to be use not only by Citrix users but all IT users.
To digest all the components about the Cloud Infrastructure, Citrix come up with this diagram.
And then Citrix introduced Citrix Cloud Center – (SaaS + IaaS) and Citrix Delivery Center (for the Cloud)
C3 Architecture
After Citrix showed the C3 architecture, another question poped up in my mind, “How can Citrix bring this Cloud Infrastructure to the IT world?” and then they introduced C3 Lab. They make a partnership with Amazon to deliver Cloud Infrastructure.
At the end of the opening session, I was so keen to know more about this new technology using the Cloud and how it will help the IT world to move to the next step.
